Daniel Robert Lahey’s “Doctor your Patience is Waiting” finds the artist once again exploring the intersection of ambient music and classical music. In this album, he provides a gentle tonic for the audio listener in need of a respite. “Vehicle for Viola and Double Reeds (thing 584)” provides a stately string-driven melody. “Doctor your Patience is Waiting (thing 585)” uses a solid instrumental punch to achieve a meditative feel.
“Non-Carbohumdrum (thing 586” continues down a gentler pathway, with interludes of forceful melodic tones. “For Closure (thing 587)” presents the listener with a lovely melody bordering on the elegiac. “Felicitous Adversity (thing 588)” brings a patient, mildly eerie sound, ever-so-slightly in haunted mansion territory while avoiding cinematic excess. It’s all a curative journey down the river Styx on the most pleasing of pleasure craft.
